Orthopedic Support for Those Who Serve Our Communities

Service Strong is a dedicated Mississippi Sports Medicine initiative created to help local firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and city employees connect with orthopedic care when pain or injury occurs.

Whether you were injured while working, training, exercising, or simply going about your day, our orthopedic team is ready to help you determine an appropriate next step.

No appointment is required to begin a HURT chat.

For a medical emergency, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department.

Service Strong: Built for First Responders

First responders spend their careers helping other people through injuries, emergencies, and difficult situations. Service Strong was created to make it easier for these professionals to connect with Mississippi Sports Medicine when they need orthopedic assistance themselves.

Through Service Strong, participating first responders and city employees receive access to a dedicated entry point into HURT, our 24/7 live orthopedic injury support platform.

The program is designed to provide a more personalized experience while helping our scheduling team recognize first responders who contact us through the Service Strong campaign.

How Service Strong Works

 1. Visit the Hurt app

by clicking here or scan the QR code provided at your fire department, police department, emergency services organization, or city office. The code connects you directly with the Service Strong pathway within our HURT orthopedic chat platform.

2. Tell Us What Happened

Use the live chat to provide basic information about your pain or injury.

You may be asked about:

  • Where you are experiencing pain
  • When and how the injury occurred
  • Whether the injury happened on or off duty
  • Your symptoms and ability to move or bear weight
  • The location where you would prefer to receive care

3. Receive a First Responder Pass

People entering through the dedicated Service Strong QR code receive a digital First Responder Pass.

The pass identifies you within our system as a first responder or participating city employee. It helps our team recognize your connection to the Service Strong initiative and make every reasonable effort to assist you efficiently.

The First Responder Pass does not replace insurance authorization, clinical triage, appointment availability, or emergency medical care.

4. Connect With the Appropriate Care Option

Based on the information provided, our team can help guide you toward an appropriate next step, which may include:

  • Scheduling with an orthopedic specialist
  • Visiting an orthopedic urgent care location
  • Receiving additional scheduling assistance
  • Seeking emergency care when symptoms require it

Help Is Available 24 Hours a Day

Chat With an Orthopedic Injury Support Specialist

Pain and injuries do not always happen during normal office hours. HURT provides access to live orthopedic injury support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The platform can help you begin the process of finding appropriate orthopedic care without waiting for the next business day to ask where you should go.
