Julie Edwards, FNP-BC

Julie Edwards, FNP-BC, brings more than 14 years of experience in orthopedic and surgical nursing to Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center. She is highly skilled in both clinical and operative orthopedics, providing comprehensive care for patients with joint, sports, and musculoskeletal injuries.

Julie began her career in the operating room at Baptist Memorial Hospital–North Mississippi, where she developed a strong foundation in surgical care as a circulating nurse. She later joined Oxford Orthopaedics (now Mississippi Sports Medicine), where she spent over a decade specializing in orthopedic procedures and patient recovery.

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Julie went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later her Master of Science in Nursing from the Mississippi University for Women. She is also a Certified Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) and a licensed Registered Nurse First Assistant.

Known for her precision, compassion, and technical expertise, Julie excels in joint injections, splinting, and minor procedures. She works closely with orthopedic surgeons and rehabilitation teams to ensure each patient receives seamless, high-quality care—from pre-surgery to full recovery.

Her approach emphasizes patient education, functional restoration, and long-term wellness—helping patients of all ages stay active and return to the activities they love. Julie sees patients in our Oxford and Hernando clinics.
