Jacob Hoffmann, MD
// BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jacob “Jake” Hoffmann is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon joining Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in January 2026 from the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, one of the nation’s leading centers for complex spine care. He specializes in the full spectrum of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine care, with a particular interest in cervical spine conditions. Dr. Hoffmann is passionate about helping patients get back to the activities they love through thoughtful diagnosis, clear communication, and individualized treatment plans that start with non-operative options whenever possible.
Dr. Hoffmann completed his medical degree and orthopedic surgery residency at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, followed by a combined neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. In addition to his clinical work, he is active in research and education, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations in spine surgery.
He enjoys collaborating in a team-based environment with clinic staff, therapists, advanced practice providers, and OR teams, and he views every patient encounter as a shared effort to solve a problem together. He is excited to bring his experience from a high-volume spine practice at the Cleveland Clinic to the Jackson area and to grow with the MSMOC team.
Outside of work, Jake is a devoted husband and dad to two young boys. As a family, they love travel and exploring new places, trying out local restaurants, and spending as much time as possible outdoors. Jake is also an avid (and always-improving) golfer and is looking forward to discovering Mississippi’s courses and becoming part of the community.
